Ask for trimming if you want to keep the existing profile. For a lower or narrower laurel, describe the proposed reduction and send views that show its depth. Waste clearance is included with the agreed work.

The approach depends on your hedge and site access. The photo records one Hermitage project rather than specifying equipment for every job.

What should I send for a quote?+

Include your postcode, full views of the hedge, approximate height and length, the finish you want and access details. For removal, specify whether stump and root work is needed.

What about nesting birds?+

Cutting needs to take account of active nests as well as the hedge species and condition. Work that would damage or destroy an active nest must be postponed. See our service pages for pruning and wildlife guidance.
